We will go over safety, proper canyoneering equipment, and give instruction on how to properly use this equipment. So once everyone is comfortable, we will head on down the canyons for an unforgettable experience. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned veteran, with our guides you’ll enjoy your time in canyon country.
This canyon follows water-carved sandstone that has been voted a favorite 1/2 day canyoneering route in Moab. It has potholes, some you can scramble over easily and others you’ll need a little swimming to get through. The high point of this canyon is about the many turns, twists and slides which lead you in and out of the water, making it a perfect option for a hot day. This route leads you to an exquisite view of the area’s landscape.
More technical than our other offerings. It has a little bit of everything, scrambling, hiking, climbing, and rappelling are all involved in this technical canyon. Well worth the views with arches not seen by others. You will encounter slot canyons and potholes that might require getting wet. This canyon is a must do adventure for the physically fit. There is no lunch provided on this adventure, please bring snacks.
**This adventure is very hot in the summer, we recommend bringing 3 liters of water.
Ephedra’s Grotto also called Medieval Chamber, or more commonly referred to as Morning Glory, is a Moab classic. A must do when visiting the area. This popular half-day trip begins just West of the Moab area in the Sand Flats Recreation Area. Guests will able to hike their way on the rock fins towards drainages and canyons that lead to two rappels. The first rappel sends visitors into the slot canyon, Medieval Chamber. Walking through the bottom of this canyon displays the beautiful layers of sandstone that have been dispersed over millions of years. The canyon then opens up to make way for the second rappel. This unique free hanging rappel is a breathtaking 120 feet next to Morning Glory Natural Bridge. The bridge measures 243 feet in width, making it one of the longest natural land bridges in the United States. Once at the bottom visitors are able to enjoy the scenic hike Grandstaff Canyon towards the Colorado River. Grandstaff Canyon is an oasis in the desert. The hike follows an ankle deep stream, lots of shade and river crossings making it a perfect desert hike.
